This is a hilarious little flash. Why was it "blammed off newgrounds"?
Offline
Most likely because it relies almost entirely on inside jokes, so none of the nOObs at newgrounds understood it.

Download the original version here. Works best on a real NES, but if you don't have an MMC3 devcart (like almost all of us here), most of today's NES emulators will play it just fine.

It survived with a 1.7 the second time it was submitted. This was after heavily beefing up the music quality, adding the remaining quotes, and eliminating the possibility of any quotes repeated, and always playing the climax quote last.
"We are merely sprites that dance at the beck and call of our button pressing overlord."

If you have a fast computer (1.5GHz or faster CPU), you can use Nintendulator (written by me); if you want an emulator with more features and/or have a slower computer, try FCE Ultra.

lot's of nes emulators here.
What's the point of this game? It only says "i am 007"...

If it doesn't say anything more than 'I am 007' (i.e. it doesn't act exactly like the Flash version), then you need a better emulator. As I mentioned before, FCE Ultra can run it just fine, and it's also available on said page.

Well, it says other stuff too, but i can't walk around or anything. I can only listen to the useless crap that 007 has to say, like in the Flash.
I use Nessie.

Does 007 talk in the game? I mean, with the voice like in the flash, or is it just text? Because the best voice I ever heard in NES was in Blades of Steel and you can barely understand what's being said there.

From what i have seen, he talks like in the flash, but in extremely low quality. Dreadful really, though i still was surprised that the NES could spit out that sound, i thought it could only do MIDI.

Some NES games, like The Simpsons and Big Bird's Hide & Speak, have voice samples. Very low-quality voice samples, but it's a beginning.
"I've been playing a lot of Final Fantasy Tactics lately, trying to master all the jobs for my human characters, and it's even been showing up in my dreams. Last night I had a dream I was watching one of those stand-up shows on TV, and a comedian was doing a bit about, you guessed it, the battle on the roof of Riovanes Castle..." -Indo Tenbuki

I could have had him talk in higher quality, but the speech samples would have taken up WAY too much space in the ROM, plus I would have needed a bunch of cycle-timed code to make him speak properly (which would NOT have worked well with the way the rest of the program was written).

Have you ever played Blades of Steel for NES. That's the best I've heard in an NES game as far as voice quality goes. If you could play that, tell me how it compares to the Simpsons and the other game you mentioned.
